Last week we were lucky enough to have one of our parents, Maria, speak to a number of our Year 8 and 9 classes about the ventricular assist device program at St Vincent’s Hospital as each of these year groups learn about the human body in Science.

Our girls were very lucky to hear how biology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, design, engineering and technology intersect with each other in an amazing device that helps keep people alive for extended periods while they wait for a heart transplant.

We look forward to hosting Maria again soon to talk to our other Year 8 and 9 classes.
